Find out Which Google Update Affected your Website

  • Wondering which Google update effected your Blog?
  • Don't know whether you are effected by Google Panda or Penguin?
  • Are you finding it difficult to analyse which update exactly effected your website/Blog?
If any of the above questions is true then you are at the right place. Here we are going to introduce a tool which will show you which Google Update effected your Blog and the percentage of impact as well.So far the major Google Updates were the Panda ,Penguin , Page Layout Algorithm , Google EMD Update. The team from Delegator came up with a tool called AlgoSleuth which shows you the exact update which effected your blog and the intensity of impact as well.

How this Tool Works:

AlgoSleuth uses your Google Analytics API to fetch traffic reports for your blogs. This tool compares your traffic changes with the Google updates and will show you the intensity of the update on your website.

Steps to Use AlgoSleuth:

Watch the quick video demonstration:

  • Login to your Google Analytics Account which is linked with your website.
  • Go to this Link
  • Click on File then choose Make a Copy from the drop down menu.
  • Now a box will pop up asking to name the file. You can name anything like Google Updates Effect , Google Panda etc then hit ok.
  • A new windows pops up with the name of your File.
  • Then go to Tools then open Script Gallary.
  • Now in Script Gallary search for GA API and install the script.
  • Close it and now click on the Google Analytics Tab on the same document.
  • Then choose Find Profile / ids .
  • Now you need to authorise the script, Click Ok.
  • Then you have to Grant Access to run the script, allow the script to authorize.
  • Now again go to Google Analytics Tab and Click on Find Profile / Ids.
  • There you have to choose the website of your choice.
  • Now you will find two different values for each website namely Profile ID and ids.
  • Just copy the ids value. For example ga:58313596
  • Copy and paste this code to the in the 6th Step of the same document.
  • Then click on Google Analytics Tab of the same document and click Get Data.
  • This will take few seconds to run the script. The Report Status will be popped up.If you see a message saying that Script Done then everything has been done properly.
  • After that close that pop up and click on AlgoSleuth Data at the bottom of the doc.
  • Now you will see the Traffic reports of your website for specific Google Update.
If the percentage of change on specific update is indicated in GREEN means your website has an positive impact where as RED means you were negatively effected with the specific update.
Traffic fluctuations are very much common. If you notice a change of less than 5-10% then there is no need to worry at all.But if you had an negative impact of above 30% then you have to seriously work on fixing the issue.
If you face any trouble using this tool let us know in your comments. If you have already used this tool tell us your experience.
